What they say

“Our five-acre farm drives our restaurant and its eleven-course menu each day. The produce from the farm, as well as the rhythms of each moment within the season are the inspiration for each day and the menu we create for our guests.”

Signature Dishes

Black cod “fukkura-san“; Duclair duck with grilled broccoli, sunchoke, and pickled garlic; Sonoma grains.

What we say

Precision, elegance, and extreme seasonality lie at the heart of SingleThread, a Sonoma County restaurant, inn, and farm that set a new bar for fine dining when it opened in downtown Healdsburg in 2016.

A collaboration between Chef Kyle Connaughton and his farmer wife, Katina, the restaurant serves a tasting menu fully customized to each guest’s dietary preferences. Its dizzying array of dishes showcase ingredients hailing from SingleThread’s own five-acre farm and the surrounding region, as well as Kyle’s expertise in clay pot cooking. His black cod fukkura-san, featuring the buttery fish and twelve to fourteen vegetables from the farm, perfectly encapsulates both.

Though the experience is impossibly refined, the service is warm, making each meal at SingleThread feel like as much a celebration of hospitality as place.

What others say

“Every evening, Kyle’s prix fixe opens with what he calls ‘a snapshot of Sonoma County’. A composition of small bites made from ingredients at their often short-lived peak, it’s meant to mirror what’s transpiring at that very moment in nearby farms, fisheries, and fields.” –Josh Sens, AFAR
